On Saturday, October 24, one of the most significant health IT history milestones for the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) took place, and ProSource360 is proud to be a part of it.
After much anticipation, and despite a pandemic, the Department of Veterans Affairs launched its new Electronic Health Records Modernization (EHRM) system at Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center in Spokane, WA. ProSource360 was selected to partner with Cerner to develop, rollout, and train VA personnel on this system, which will revolutionize health care for our Veterans.
In the VA EHRM system, active-duty service members who have an electronic health record through the Department of Defense will not have to transfer medical records after discharge. VA providers will now be able to see a veteran’s medical history in their health records.
The Spokane launch represents the beginning of the VA’s transition to a seamless all-electronic health record system for veterans. “Our goal and our buzz-phrase has always been this lifetime, single longitudinal health record,” said John Windom, executive director of the VA Office of Electronic Health Record Modernization.
